  • The Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce will host its 2017 membership meeting at 4 p.m. May 16 at Chamber headquarters, 217 Goethe Road.

CEO Shellie West will deliver the State of the Chamber address.

An after-hours networking event will follow the meeting, from 5 to 7 p.m. Cost is $10 for members, and $20 for non-members.

Kimberly Hall has been named executive director of Bluffton Self Help.

Hall's role is to provide executive leadership to the organization's operations, as well as lead marketing, fund development and volunteer activities.

Hall is new to the area from Orlando, Fla., where she most recently led statewide marketing, volunteer and fund development functions for Easterseals Florida.

Prior to that, she was with United Way Suncoast in Tampa for more than seven years, where she was vice president of investor relations, leading the $25 million workplace campaign.

Hall holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and Masters in Business Administration from The University of Tampa. She and her husband Chris reside in Bluffton with their two young children.

Bob Passamano has joined Diamond Realty as a real estate professional.

He brings more than 25 years' of successful sales and sales management experience from the medical and hospital products industry.

Luciana Thompson, LEED AP, has joined the J. Banks team as Commercial Project Manager.

Thompson has more than 10 years of project management and business development experience in the architecture and design field. Prior to joining J. Banks, she was the ARB and community association manager for nationally renowned Ford Plantation. In her role there, she worked closely with property owners ensuring all real estate development goals were met while guiding all related parties through the construction process.

Thompson has vast experience with interior and architectural design and urban planning, both nationally and internationally, through previous employment with J.W. Robinson & Associates, Savannah College of Art and Design and Dalu Design Group. She holds a Masters of Architecture degree from SCAD.

  • Joe Nahman, founder of RMC Resort Management, has been awarded the coveted C.A.R.E. Pinnacle Award for lifetime achievement.

This award, presented by the Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers (C.A.R.E.), honors an individual who has attained the pinnacle of excellence in the vacation industry as measured by their achievements as well as their positive impact on the direction and standards of the industry and their local community.

The award is presented only once every two years to members who "possess the highest ethical standards and have demonstrated their commitment to the community through philanthropic activities and characteristics of leadership, integrity and commitment to quality."

Nahman received his award at C.A.R.E.'s 64th Conference held recently in Virginia Beach.
