Daryle Mitchell has joined Community Foundation of the Lowcountry as a finance associate.

Mitchell is a Hilton Head Island native who graduated from Hilton Head High School. He was a walk-on football player at Charleston Southern University, where he played for two years. He earned an associate's degree in general business from Technical College of the Low-country and a bachelor's degree in business administration from American Public University.

He serves as president of the South Carolina Sharks football organization, where he helps overlooked athletes develop as players and role models.

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Mitchell held a variety of retail management positions.

Keir Parrot and Alexander A. Zarra have joined Diamond Realty and Property Management as real estate professionals.

Parrot is a native of the South Carolina Lowcountry, where she worked after school and summers in her family's Pawley's Island real estate office, Bumpy Thompson Realty.

She spent 25-plus years in international logistics, where she worked in a sales capacity.

Zarra was born in Northeastern Pennsylvania and relocated with his family in 2001 to Hilton Head Island.

He is a resident homeowners in Bluffton Park and will specialize in helping first-time buyers with their first home purchase.

Steve Petro recently joined the Delcher & Delcher team as a representative of buyers and sellers. He will specialize in properties in the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton markets.

A native New Englander, Petro began his real estate career in Atlanta with a land developer. He has extensive experience in selling and leasing residential and commercial properties.

Petro and his family were first introduced to the Lowcountry in 1981 when he was hired as general manager of Moss Creek Plantation.

Over the years, Petro held positions of broker-in-charge, director of sales and sales manager with builders and brokerage companies from Hilton Head, Beaufort and Savannah.

He holds an active broker license in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, as well as the designation of certified property manager, granted through the Institute of Real Estate Management.

Additionally, he is a certified real estate instructor with the South Carolina Real Estate Commission, conducting classes throughout the state.

  • The Lowcountry SCORE Chapter will conduct a free, three-part series of business workshops to help individuals decide whether to start a business.

The sessions will be held from 5 to 6:45 p.m. June 27, July 11 and July 25 at the Bluffton Branch Library, 120 Palmetto Way.

Topics addressed will include business plans, start up basics, sales and financial issues.

Sean Carroll has joined the Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort as the chef de cuisine for Alexander's Restaurant.

Located at 76 Queen's Folly Road on the main Palmetto Dunes entry road, Alexander's has been in operation since 1977. The restaurant closed last October following Hurricane Matthew, but reopened in March following a complete renovation with a revamped menu.

Carroll came on board just as Alexander's reopened its doors and has been hard at work getting the restaurant through its initial phase.

Carroll graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Atlanta and went on to work at The Inn on Biltmore Estate, a four-diamond and four-star hotel in Asheville, N.C. His experience includes time at the Bistro at Biltmore Estate, TWO Urban Licks in Atlanta, The Partridge Inn in Augusta, Ga., and Blue Talon Bistro and Waypoint Seafood & Grill, both in Williamsburg, Va.

Originally from Williamsburg, Va., Carroll lives on Hilton Head Island with his wife and daughter.

Steve Knight, LISW-CP has joined Whole Health, a counseling practice in Bluffton.

After finishing his master's program in 1998, Knight began his clinical work providing counseling to deaf high school students in Austin, Texas. He moved to Montana, where he was a therapist and clinical director for a family counseling agency. He later went into private practice for eight years, where he specialized in treating foster and adoptive families.

Moving to Hawaii in 2001, he provided counseling to all ages in a rural medical clinic setting and developed a specialty in treating trauma survivors and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Shar Weinrauch, CT and Debbie Price, CNMT, CT have opened Coastal Thermal Imaging, a mobile service throughout the Lowcountry offering medical thermography for health discovery.

Weinrauch has been a local business owner since 1978. Price has 36 years of medical experience.
