Christopher Corkern, a financial advisor with The Prudential Insurance Company and president of The Corkern Group, has been named to the international Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) that recognizes the world's leading insurance and investment financial services advisors. Only a small percentage are named as members, and fewer than 1 percent qualify each year for MDRT.

This honor included an invitation to attend the annual conference June 4-7 in Orlando, Fla. Corkern has been named for 13 consecutive years.

His professionalism and dedication to clients has earned him a lifetime membership to the Million Dollar Round Table.

Taylor Brunn has joined Collins Group Realty as office manager of the company's Bluffton real estate office. She will offer comprehensive support to the group's mainland specialists, while also serving as assistant to the company's marketing manager, Ashley Smith.

A Bluffton native, Brunn brings with her four years of real estate and marketing experience and a desire to expand her knowledge of the industry. Taylor studied hospitality and destination marketing at the University of South Carolina Beaufort.

  • Beverly Maloney, senior account executive at the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, was recently recognized as one of the top sales professionals in the country by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE).

Maloney was named No. 7 in the Circle of Champions for the New Membership Sales $500,000-$1.5 million category.

Last year, Maloney won a Diamond Level Lifetime Sales Achievement Award from ACCE for $1.5 million in new member sales during her 21-year career with the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.

Allen Freeman of CFG Wealth Management LLC in Bluffton has earned the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) designation through the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. He is the founder of Lowcountry Divorce Planning, LLC in Bluffton.

Individuals with three years of experience in the financial services field, accounting or family law are eligible to enroll in the CDFA course. To earn the CDFA designation, candidates must successfully complete a multi-part, comprehensive exam.

  • Brown Golf Management has added Brown Golf Academy to the company.

The full-service academy will offer a variety of adult golf lessons, classes, schools, customized small group clinics, as well as Wee Golf and a Junior Golf Academy.

All classes and lessons will be taught by PGA Golf professionals who are teachers with more than 100 years of combined teaching experienced.

Heath Prosser and Virginia "Ginger" Orlowski have joined Red the Restaurant and Wine Boutique, formerly known as R&D Wine Boutique.

Prosser, a New Zealand native, is the new executive chef. Prosser earned his Certificate of Cookery from Box Hill College in Australia.

He began his cooking career at age 18 while traveling the world. He has worked in Michigan, Miami, Australia, New Zealand and on Hilton Head Island, where he worked at the Old Fort Pub, then spent 11 years at the Heritage Golf Group before joining the team at Red.

Orlowski will serve as general manager of the restaurant. She has decades of experience in the food and beverage industry. She has worked locally at the Wexford Plantation Clubhouse, Crazy Crab, Jim 'n' Nick's, Berkeley Hall and The Bluffton Room.

The restaurant recently changed ownership. Since new owners, Arturo and Tara Lopez, have taken over the establishment, Red has been completely remodeled with new interior décor and seating, new additions to the staff, and a new menu.
