  • Nancy Landwehr has opened The Spirited Hand, a gift gallery, at 1127 Fording Island Road, Suite 103, in Bluffton. A ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held at 10 a.m. June 8.

Landwehr previously owned a store by the same name for 18 years in Connecticut. The store features American hand-crafted items.

Trent Williamson has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Don Ryan Center for Innovation.

Williamson officially assumes his leadership role after serving as the organization's interim CEO and overseeing the incubation program.

Williamson previously worked with the Metro Atlanta Chamber and Cobb Chamber, where he created partnerships with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Tech, Georgia University and Georgia's utility providers. Williamson also worked to build partnerships with 29 neighboring counties, which contributed to the economic success of a business community.

Susan Burke moved to South Carolina in 2003.

She has worked in the engineering industry in a customer support role for more than 25 years.

He is a graduate of Buffalo State College and the University of Buffalo, School of Law & Jurisprudence. Ables has a life-long passion for real estate, having owned personal residences and investment residential real estate throughout his legal career.

Betsy Gauthier has joined the sales and development team at StoneWorks.

Gauthier holds a degree in interior design. She spent 20 years in the Greensboro and High Point, N.C., area, known as "The Furniture Capital of the World." There she worked for furniture giant Furnitureland South as well as Stickley Furniture.

Gauthier also previously served as director of customer relations for COR365 Information Solutions, a division of Twin City Warehouse, Inc., headquartered in Winston-Salem, N.C. In addition, she developed, founded and managed daily operations of a successful chocolate business, Loco for Coco.

Gauthier and her husband, Peter, recently moved to Bluffton.

Christopher Corkern and Bryan Weathersbee, with The Prudential Insurance Company and The Corkern Group, have been named to the international Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) that recognizes the world's leading insurance and investment financial services advisors.

Only a small percentage are named as members and less than 1 percent qualify each year for MDRT.

This marks Corkern's 14th consecutive year named to the MDRT. It is the first year for Bryan Weathersbee to be recognized for this achievement.

Both Corkern and Weathersbee will be attending the invitation-only annual conference June 24-27 in Los Angeles.

  • Colette Stevenson, CEO of Multiple Listing Service of Hilton Head Island, completed the Disney Institute course in Quality Service.

The Disney Institute encourages enrollees to adapt Disney business insights to assess and improve their own organizations.
