Patrick Burke, P.E. has been named deputy general manager, operations and technical services at Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA), as of May 24.

Burke has more than 30 years' experience in the water and wastewater industry, including the past 27 at Aqua Pennsylvania, an investor-owned utility that serves more than 28 counties throughout Pennsylvania.

Aqua Pennsylvania is a subsidiary of Aqua America, which provides water and wastewater services to more than 3 million people in eight states. In his most recent role at Aqua, he was the director of operations for Greater Pennsylvania.

Burke has a Bachelor of Science degree in structural design and construction engineering technology from Penn State University, an MBA from Bloomsburg University, and is a licensed professional engineer.

The extensive search for the deputy general manager was conducted nationwide by Cabot Associates.

In his role as deputy general manager, Burke will oversee approximately 135 employees in the operational side of the authority.

Dancing Hammock Pilates & Movement Center will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, co-sponsored by the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, at 4:30 p.m. June 20 at its new location, 162 Bluffton Road.

Silja Burns, owner and lead instructor at Dancing Hammock, said the boutique studio will be the only Pilates and movement studio in South Carolina featuring AntiGravity fitness suspension techniques, that combine silk hammocks with Pilates and rebounding.

Grand opening attendees will have a tour of the studio plus a chance to participate in a raffle that will include free introductory classes, as well as an assortment of fitness prizes and gifts. Refreshments will be served.

Burns is a lifetime resident of Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. She is a graduate of Hilton Head High School and Clemson University, and currently resides in Bluffton with her husband Eric and their two children.

Katy Doolan has joined the staff of Outside Brands as sales manager in the company's expanding Savannah market.

With a goal of connecting groups with the best places, products and experiences in Savannah, Doolan has a well-rounded background in the development and activation of programs.

Doolan earned a degree from Western Illinois University in recreation, park and tourism administration with a minor in hospitality, and emphasis on team building.

Looking to escape the cold, Doolan began her Outside career in 2011 as an intern just out of college. Since then her roles have included kayak guide, marina and kiosk operations and retail associate at both Palmetto Bluff and Shelter Cove.

In 2015, Doolan joined the team of the Westin Hilton Head Resort and served as both a guest services manager and then sales manager. Her love of the water and outdoor adventure called her back to Outside Brands in 2018 and her current role of sales manager with Destinations DMC.

Brandon Greenplate has joined Hilton Head Properties Realty & Rentals as a real estate agent.

Greenplate, a Pennsylvania native who frequently visited Hilton Head Island while growing up, has been an island resident for the past five years. A recent graduate of Clemson University, he previously served as an intern with Hilton Head Properties while working toward his degree.

Kacie Weatherhead recently joined Olivetti, McCray & Withrow LLC as a legal assistant. In her new role, she will assist attorney and firm partner Daphne S. Withrow, RN, with medical malpractice and personal injury cases.

Before joining Olivetti, McCray & Withrow, Weatherhead worked as a quality management and credentialing specialist at PPR, a travel nurse staffing company. During her tenure with PPR, she was honored with the Core Value Award for her commitment to excellence.

She also interned for Programs for Exceptional People, the South Carolina Department of Social Services, and the University of South Carolina Beaufort's Office of Admissions.

Originally from Albany, N.Y., Weatherhead earned a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in human services from the University of South Carolina Beaufort, where she received Chancellor's List honors every semester.
