Susan Knapp, MSW, LISW-CP has joined the generalist mental health practice of Psychological & Counseling Associates of the Lowcountry LLC.

Knapp brings a wealth of experience to assessment and treatment of adults of all ages and couples struggling with relationship problems. For the past nine years, she worked as a clinical counselor for the United States Navy, providing short-term, solution-focused psychotherapy to active duty and retired military service members and their families.

In addition to other duties, Knapp's team addressed allegations of child abuse and intimate partner violence, and she counseled victims of military sexual assault as well as service members exhibiting suicide-related behaviors.

Knapp's experience includes five years as a pediatric social worker in a children's hospital and eight years as a counselor with the National Kidney Foundation.

Jeff Land

After 32 years on Hilton Head Island, owner Jeff Land has moved The Barber Shop to Bluffton. The new location is at 102 Buckwalter Parkway, Suite 3C, near One Hot Mamas and Cinco restaurants.

The family owned and operated shop includes five barbers on staff. The shop is known for its relaxed, eclectic atmosphere and old school haircuts.

Heather Banks has joined Chris Hervochon, CPA, CVA LLC firm as a staff accountant, providing outsourced accounting and tax preparation for small businesses and individuals.

Previously, Banks spent three years in the automotive accounting industry. She is finishing her degree with a focus in accounting from Brenau University.

Banks also regularly volunteers for the American Red Cross, Night of Champions and the Arts Council. When she isn't working, she loves spending time at home with her husband and dogs.

Tonya Robinson has joined Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA) as a resource family case manager. She will be providing a spectrum of services to resource families and the children in their care.

Robinson is a 2010 honor graduate of Limestone College in Gaffney, with a Bachelor's of Social Work degree.

She is the mother of three adult children and grandmother of one.

Prior to joining CAPA, Robinson worked for Beaufort County School District, ThreeOne Corporation and Lowcountry Healthy Start.

Rob Jacobs and Mindy Hopman have joined the staff of South Coastal Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

FCA is a worldwide nonprofit Christian sports ministry, reaching coaches and athletes at all levels. SouthCoastal FCA serves Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper County Schools and community.

Jacobs formerly was the high school and young adult pastor at Low Country Community Church for the past 19 years.

Hopman is a speaker, published author, and English teacher at Hilton Head Preparatory School.

Both Jacobs and Hopman have an extensive background in ministry and mission work, and will serve in the Hilton Head and Bluffton area.
