CAPA hosts 'celebrity' dance event


The Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA) will host its Dancing with Our Stars fundraising event at 7:30 p.m. March 9 at USCB Center for the Arts, 805 Carteret St. in Beaufort.

Capt. Lee Levesque of the Bluffton Township Fire District is one of the celebrity "stars" participating. His instructor and dance partner is Megan Howe. Their team is named "The Fire Starters." Ten other teams, featuring well-known members of the greater Beaufort community, will also perform.Teams will compete for four different awards: Judges Choice Award for best performance, the People's Choice award for most money raised, the Alumni Choice award selected by past participants, and the Best Costume Award.

Judging and announcement of the winners will follow the competition.

Tickets go on sale on Jan. 15 at Tickets for the Friday night dress rehearsal will also be on sale.
