DRCI names Wohl to new position

Charles Wohl has been named vice president of innovation for the Don Ryan Center for Innovation (DRCI). In this newly created position, Wohl will lead the organization's business incubator and entrepreneurial ventures.

Wohl brings global experience as an incubation program leader across various industries, including aerospace, bio-technology, electronics and manufacturing. He is an expert in mentoring entrepreneurs in full-scale business formation, including product development, market entry, sales, licensing and operations management.

Trent Williamson, CEO of DRCI, said "Charles's skill set will further enhance the Town of Bluffton's optimal environment for emerging businesses. We are thrilled to have him join our community and can't wait to see his impact."

Most recently, Wohl served as executive director of Texas Capital Network, Inc. Additionally, he launched HTC North, a technology-focused incubator in The Woodlands, Texas, that developed new clients for the Houston Technology Center (HTC). He is also a named inventor on numerous patents.

Active in the Texas startup community, he served as a mentor for programs at the University of Texas, Texas A&M University and Rice University along with the Regional Clean Tech Open program.

Wohl will play an integral role in planning and development of The Hub, which will house the business incubator and serve as Bluffton's first state-of-the-art co-working space and economic development headquarters.

"Adding an expert of Wohl's caliber to the team will further position the Town of Bluffton as a leader in fostering an economy where both aspirating and experienced innovators can thrive."
