To the Editor:

The love and light was plentiful on June 2 as Pockets Full of Sunshine (PFS) hosted "Fun in The Sun for Everyone," an inclusive event for the community and families of all ages and abilities.

Held beachfront at Marriott's Surf Watch on Hilton Head, there was an abundance of hugs, smiles and high-fives among the 150 participants and 40 volunteers from Bluffton and the island. The vibe was sensational and we could not be more thankful for the day, the many volunteers and donors and most of all the efforts of our families that helped make the day a great success.

This was the third consecutive year for the event, which continues to grow in spirit and attendance as many independent beachgoers serendipitously joined in on the fun. Human nature at it's finest!

The day provided families the opportunity to enjoy the beach and adventures of paddle boarding, surfing, and just good old-fashioned boogie boarding and beach games. Perhaps it's something we all take for granted living in the Lowcountry, but for some, this was the only chance to hang ten.

Volunteer Brian Kinard said, "I've been around the water and surfing and sailing and boats for 20 years, and anytime you can help someone get turned on to these fun activities, it's a great day. The smiles and laughter that comes after that are awesome."

Thank you to all those who participated as we look forward to next year!
