Registration is open for the Port Royal Sound Foundation's fourth annual Lowcountry Community Golf Challenge, to be held March 25 at the Oldfield Plantation Greg Norman Signature Course in Okatie.
Breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. and shotgun will be at 10 a.m. Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of golf, cold beverages, BBQ lunch, two mulligans and can participate in a putting contest, as well as one entry into a $1,000 cash drawing. Entry is $225 each.
For $50, non-golfers will be able to partake in BBQ lunch and will also receive one entry into a cash drawing.
The Port Royal Sound Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to the betterment and conservation of the waters and lands of our unique salt marsh ecosystem that is the Port Royal Sound estuary system.
Their mission is to advance the awareness of Port Royal Sound contributes to the environmental, cultural and economic well-being of our area, the region and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Maritime Center opened in November 2014 and serves as an educational museum with more than 20 exhibits, including 3,000 aquarium and other live animal displays that help to build a greater appreciation for the Port Royal Sound.
More than 80,000 visitors have visited the Maritime Center and experienced many of the tours and programs that are offered.
