ARTS CENTER CAMPS (Register at artshhi.org)

June 15-19

Theatre Camp: Make a cast of new friends during this fun-filled week! Campers will learn about the essential parts of a story as they collaborate to create an original mini-production. Final performance will be recorded for viewing by family and friends. Tuition $110

June 22-26

Take The Stage: Dancing Through The Decades: Campers will be introduced to dances from a variety of styles and eras as we learn how dance has developed through the years. Campers will also get to choreograph some of their own TikTok or YouTube dances! Tuition $75

Mixed-Up Masterpieces: Aquatic Adventures: Students begin with a watery collage, go on a painting adventure with Sinbad the Sailor, and create their own mythical sea creature print, as well as several other projects in drawing, painting, paper crafts, and printmaking. Materials Kit: Available for pickup at the Arts Center on the Friday prior to class. Leftover materials are yours to keep. Tuition $85

June 29-July 2 + July 10

Kids 'n' Clay: Students will learn a variety of ceramic hand building techniques, including pinch, slab, coil, surface decoration, glazing. NOTE: No Class on July 3, as we will be firing the clay pieces in the kiln and returning the following Friday to glaze and refire the work. Pieces will be available for pick-up approximately one week later. Materials Kit: Available for pickup at the Arts Center on the Friday prior to class. Leftover materials are yours to keep. Tuition $85

July 6-10

Fun With Printmaking: Campers will create their own limited edition and one-of-a-kind colorful prints. Throughout the week, we will utilize several additive and subtractive printing techniques such as monoprint, relief, collagraph, and reduction prints. Materials Kit: Available for pickup at the Arts Center on the Friday prior to class. Leftover materials are yours to keep. Tuition $90

July 13-17

Take The Stage: The Greatest Show: Learn a show-stopping musical number and play the role of some your favorite characters from the hit movie, "The Greatest Showman." This experience will culminate in a virtual showcase to show off for friends and family. Tuition $75

Mixed-Up Masterpieces: Earth ... Its Got Art: Students will "travel" the globe creating art inspired by each continent. Projects such as self-portraits, animal art, and masks will be created using various techniques. Materials Kit: Available for pickup at the Arts Center on the Friday prior to class. Leftover materials are yours to keep. Tuition $85

July 27-31

Dynamic Designs: Lowcountry Life In Mixed Media: Students will create a small portfolio of work inspired by the flora and fauna of the Lowcountry. Focus will be on how to combine a variety of media and techniques to create layered imagery. Materials Kit: Available for pickup at the Arts Center on the Friday prior to class. Leftover materials are yours to keep. Tuition $85

July 27-Aug. 7

Summer Actor Intensive: Students can polish their acting techniques during this online intensive with Toronto-based actor and director Cecily Smith, via Zoom. Actors will be exposed to 90 minutes of professional training and rehearsal each afternoon with a final recorded performance for viewing by family and friends. Tuition $220

SOBA SUMMER ART CAMP

July 13-17 (ages 6 to 9); July 20-24 (ages 10 to 12)

Summer Art Camps will run from 9 to 11 a.m. both weeks at SOBA's Center for Creative Arts, 8 Church St., Bluffton. Each class limited to 10 students. Instructor is Mary Burrell, a member of SOBA and the National Association of Women Artists. Burrell also teaches arts and crafts to preschoolers, aftercare and camp children at Cross Schools in Bluffton. Register at bit.ly/2020KidsArtCamp. More info at 845-893-5726 or memburrell@gmail.com.
