Beaufort Memorial Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists has opened a new office in Bluffton to meet the growing demand for women’s health care services south of the Broad.
Part of the Beaufort Memorial Bluffton Medical Services complex at Westbury Park, the full-service, 4,000-square-foot office is located in Suite 101 at 7 Arley Way. It includes five examination rooms, state-of-the-art digital ultrasound and a nonstress test (NST) room for fetal heart rate monitoring.
Open Monday through Friday, the new office is staffed by Beaufort Memorial board-certified OB-GYN specialists Dr. Christopher Benson, Dr. Gregory Miller, Dr. Marlena Mattingly, certified nurse practitioner Suzanne Wolf, and certified nurse midwife and advanced practice registered nurse Maureen Chapman. Dr. Patricia Thompson, who is also a member of the practice, is currently on leave of absence.
The practice provides care to both obstetrics and gynecology patients and delivers babies at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Collins Birthing Center. Drs. Benson, Miller and Thompson are also trained in minimally invasive surgery using the daVinci robotic system to perform single-incision hysterectomies, in addition to other gynecological procedures.
They are among a group of over a dozen Beaufort Memorial specialists keeping office hours at the BMH Bluffton satellite facility. In addition to scheduling an office visit with an OB-GYN, patients can have digital mammograms with same-day results, bone density scans and lab work done at the Bluffton office.
Prior to opening the new Bluffton facility this month, Beaufort Memorial Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists offered limited office hours in shared space at Bluffton Medical Services.
The practice, which recently merged with Beaufort Memorial Gynecology Specialists, also has an office in Suite 210 of Beaufort Medical Plaza at 989 Ribaut Rd.
