Bruce Quinn has joined the Hilton Head real estate office of Collins Group Realty as a buyer’s specialist.

Quinn has recently returned to Hilton Head. He and his wife, Kelly, reside in Sea Pines.

Quinn has spent much of his 18-year real estate career working for real estate developers from South Carolina to Texas.

Having grown up here with his parents, who opened Wingfield’s clothing store in 1960, his extensive knowledge of the island will be a great asset to clients.

  • The Greenery recently won the Employee-Owned Company of the Year award given annually by the ESOP Carolina Association.

The company will go on to represent the chapter in a nationwide contest.

The Greenery, a landscaping and nursery company based on Hilton Head Island, was started by Berry and Ruthie Edwards in 1973 with a staff of six and two pickup trucks. Their son, Lee Edwards, is now the CEO.

As a result of the growth, Peter Pierson has joined the company as general manager. Pierson, who also is Polster’s cousin, most recently served as a drill instructor in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Ray Marinaccio has opened Pool Scouts of the Lowcouantry at 10 Traders Cross in Bluffton.

The company provides pool cleaning, maintenance and minor repair services to residential pool owners. Pool Scouts technicians are trained in testing, monitoring, treating and servicing pools and can provide ongoing service throughout the year.

Marinaccio previously was an attorney for 18 years and always dreamed of owning his own business. While cleaning his pool one day, he began to consider pool maintenance work and franchising opportunities. He has received extensive training and has hired an experienced technician.

Ron Angner Sr. has joined the staff of Play & Gourmet Home Technology and Appliances, where his son Ron Angner Jr. is the CEO.

Angner Sr., who recently retired from the corporate world, brings more than 50 years of experience in computer science, operations and electrical engineering to his new role as general manager of home and kitchen appliances.

Angner’s career began in the late 1960s as a design engineer and supervisor for Bell Labs, for whom he has 21 patents.

He also has worked in network systems and technology for AT&T, and later on developed billing and customer care systems for telephone companies for Advanced Technology Systems.

Before joining the Play & Gourmet staff, he spent 19 years as principal and senior vice president of network operations for a local management consulting company.
