Retailers, restaurants and service businesses are changing the commercial landscape in Bluffton and Hilton Head. Here’s the latest in new construction, renovations, relocations, planned projects, commercial transactions, grand openings and closings.

  • Club Seats Grille, 2600 Main St., Hilton Head (in half of the old Main Street Lanes bowling alley). This gastro pub opened Aug. 31, serving 18 craft beers on tap and gourmet chicken, beef and seafood grilled melts. It is the fourth dining establishment owned and operated by this local group. Its first Cheap Seats Tavern venture opened in 2010 on the island, then in Bluffton in 2015 and Ridgeland earlier this year. Live music is also on the menu at all locations.
  • Fiamme Italian Kitchen, Sea Turtle Marketplace, 430 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head. This traditional and modern dining emporium has opened and is serving chicken, fish, pasta and pizza with a wood fire grill as its centerpiece. The former Pineland Station center also is the new home of PetSmart and Another Broken Egg Café, while SteinMart and Starbucks hold steady as long-time tenants.
  • Lowcountry Kitchen 2 Go, 258 Red Cedar Street, Suite 15, Bluffton. The owners of Lowcountry Kitchen catering and Lowcountry Lobster food truck now will deliver sandwiches, salads, soups and more Monday through Friday with a minimum order of five lunches. Orders also can be picked up onsite.
  • The Market, a seasonal farmers market at the Village at Wexford, has reopened for the fall season.

The outdoor market, featuring dozens of vendors, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 25 in the parking lot at the shopping center.

Vendor items include fresh produce, artisan bread, teas, waffles, bath and body products, and prepared foods.

Grand openings, ribbon cuttings, closings:

  • Burn Boot Camp, 270 Red Cedar St., Suite 103, Bluffton, Aug. 30. This national franchise provides training and nutrition programs for women. Among the classes offered are high-intensity intervals, or “burst” training, and strength conditioning.
  • Bluffton Orthodontics, 337 Buckwalter Place, Buckwalter Industrial Park, Bluffton. Dr. Robert Garrison has more than 30 years of experience in this specialty dental field, serving patients with a full range of the latest orthodontic treatments.
  • The Porcupine in the Village at Wexford, owned and operated for 42 years by Avis Rollison, is closing. Rollison announced her retirement in late September, writing in a letter to friends and customers, “I am closing the doors forever.” She held a “wall to wall” liquidation sale starting Sept. 28.
  • Bluffton Bicycle Shop and 843 Restaurant on the island have closed permanently because of hurricane damage for the past year.
