If you are under 47, this article might not mean much to you. I only pick 47 because that is my age, and it’s only now at this age that this topic has become very relevant in my life.
For me, and what I believe to be true for a great number of people based on what I witness on a daily basis, the biggest challenge to enacting a healthy lifestyle is falling for the biggest lie in the universe: that you are not in control of your fate.
This lie creeps up on you as you age; it limits you and burdens you. It seems the older we get, the more we relinquish ourselves to the circumstances that surround us.
Some circumstances are good, but many are bad – bad eating habits, bad relationships, and bad choices. Indeed, more times than not, our thoughts and actions are the reasons for our circumstances.
Moreover, when it comes to healthy living, it also seems the universe of our commercial society is conspiring to keep us unhealthy.
But here is the truth: You are in control of your fate.
As hard as it might seem, if you want to make a change for the better, then you can. And what’s more, the moment you decide to enact positive change, the universe will begin to conspire to help you.
You have heard of beginners luck, right? That is not luck; the moment you act toward your goal, there is energy that encourages a positive outcome.
This energy might manifest as meeting a new person or getting an opportunity where there wasn’t one before. We are innocent of knowing how it might present itself. No telling how long that energy lasts, but it exists initially.
The point is, you can make positive change for yourself, and it’s not so difficult to do.
I suggest small steps. Go to bed an hour early and wake up an hour earlier; eat one green vegetable more a day; stop drinking coffee after noon. You get the idea – small changes that are doable.
The result will be the notion of empowerment – and this you can build upon – and soon you will realize that you are in control of your fate.
