Each year around Christmas, Bluffton Self Help provides a Holiday Hope Toy Shop for the children of the agency’s clientele.

The toys are donated by community members who seek to help others and spread holiday cheer. To that end, toy collection boxes have been distributed throughout the area.

Last year, B.S.H. provided gifts for more than 1,200 families in the community – people who wouldn’t have been able to provide their children with toys if not for the generosity of others.

Toy collection boxes are located in the following places, among others: The Bluffton Sun in Bluffton Village, Bull Hill Neighborhood (Sun City), St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, Salon Karma, Hampton Lake, Downtown Deli, Bluffton Fire Department, Moss Creek, Benchmark Fitness, Howell-Chase Heating & Air, True Fit Pilates, Bluffton Middle School, MC Riley Elementary and Early Childhood Center, Berkeley Hall, Southern Barrel, Epperson Heating & Air, Corner Perk.

While younger children might be easier to buy for, gift items for older children are appreciated as well. Ideas include art supplies and sets, science and STEM learning sets, Lego sets, bicycles, mini-drone quadcopters, watches, sports equipment and logic games.

The work of Bluffton Self Help has a powerful impact not only on the people that they work with directly, but also on the community at large. They are completely reliant on donors to keep their mission alive and serve those in need.
