• Christmas at Providence Presbyterian Church will feature several events from Dec. 8 to 24, and all are welcome to attend.

In addition to regular Sunday 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services, the church will host an Oyster Roast with Advent Walk and Tree Lighting from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 8. Tickets are $15 per person, and $4 for children under 12.

Activities will include a Christmas story walk, crafts for children, a bonfire, Christmas tree lighting and caroling.

The location is the back campus Retreat Center at Providence, which now has a large pavilion and activity building near the Chapel in the Woods.

A single Sunday service will be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 15, featuring Dr. JooSoo Sun and the Providence choirs with instruments. Brunch following the service is open to all.

On Christmas Eve, two services will be held: a 4 p.m. Family Nativity and 6 p.m. Candlelight Communion, both in the sanctuary. At the Family Nativity all children are welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to become a part of our annual “live manger” during the service.

 The second annual Holiday Concert with the Sun City Chimers, Jubilate Ringers from Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, and Wesley Ringers from Bluffton United Methodist Church, will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 351 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton.

The event is free and open to the public, though donations will be appreciated.

• St. Andrew By-The-Sea United Methodist Church will hold four Christmas Eve services, including the eighth annual Christmas Eve under the Stars in Bluffton.

The schedule for Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, includes:

4:30 p.m., Family Candlelight Service with the Women’s Ensemble and harp at the Hilton Head Campus, 20 Pope Ave. All children attending the service are welcome to participate in presenting a children’s Christmas pageant, “Silent Night, Holy Night.”

6:30 p.m., Christmas Eve under the Stars at Bluffton Oyster Factory Park, 63 Wharf St. The family-oriented service, presented in cooperation with First Zion Missionary Baptist Church, includes carols and the lighting of candles. Free refreshments provided.

7 p.m., Candlelight Communion Service with harp at the Hilton Head Campus.

9:30 p.m., Traditional Candlelight Service with harp at the Hilton Head Campus.

The season continues Dec. 29 with one service of “Lessons & Carols” at 10 a.m. at the Hilton Head Campus; and the regular 9 and 10:30 a.m. services at the Bluffton Campus, 39 Persimmon St., Building 200.

St. Andrew By-The-Sea Hilton Head Campus holds regularly scheduled Sunday worship at 9 and 11:15 a.m. The Bluffton Campus offers non-traditional worship at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
