“Ebb and Flow,” the fifth in a series of anthologies from the Island Writers’ Network (IWN) on Hilton Head, debuted Dec. 13. The new book already is being called “the best yet” by fans.

More than 50 contributors – novelists, essayists, poets, storytellers, photographers, journalists, artists – collaborate to entertain, inform and comment on life in the Lowcountry and beyond.

One character making frequent appearances throughout is a hurricane named Matthew.

IWN members teamed up with the Camera Club of Hilton Head Island, Photography Club of Beaufort, Art League of Hilton Head, and the Sun City Photography Club to create the 265-page anthology.

“Ebb and Flow” blends some of the series’ familiar contributor names with numerous new voices and visions.

The successful IWN anthology series began in 2011 and includes “Hilton Head Island: Unpacked & Staying,” “Hilton Headings,” “Hilton Head Island: Living the Dream,” and “Time and Tide.”

The new anthology is available at the Coastal Discovery Museum, as well as on Amazon.com. “Ebb & Flow” can also be purchased at several local businesses, including By Hand Inc., Coastal Treasures, and Top of the Lighthouse.

All the books, including the new “Ebb and Flow,” can be purchased at islandwritersnetworkhhi.org. Cost is $15, with generous bulk prices available.

As other locations become available, they will be posted on the website.
