One of the Town of Bluffton’s initiatives is the Don Ryan Center for Innovation, a business incubator and an economic developer arm for the town.

Don Ryan the man was years ahead of the economic development world in Beaufort County and always envisioned this area to be the hub for business. He practiced what he preached by bringing his own company, CareCore (now eviCore Healthcare), to Bluffton, and built his headquarters in Buckwalter Place.

We proudly named our town’s incubator after this incredible entrepreneur and we work to further his vision of bringing good-paying jobs to our area.

Right now the center is holding shop at the Law Enforcement Center, while its permanent new home is under construction. Located perfectly between eviCore, St. Joseph’s/Candler and the soon-to-be-completed Culinary Institute of South Carolina, this center will be the hub for our local business startups, seminars, and so much more.

While we watch the center being built, we are continuing to hold seminars for the business community. Our next one will be Nov. 21 from 8 to 9 a.m. upstairs at Corner Perk, 1297 May River Road in Old Town. The title of this session is “The 45-minute Marketing Make-Over for Business Owners: Moving from Ho-Hum and Stale to WOW and Fresh.”

Lucy Rosen, founder and president of SmartMarketing Communications, will be the presenter and will offer a lively conversation on marketing ideas, so you will not want to miss this.

Lucy is a nationally renowned business strategist, entrepreneur and author who is known for her ability to help professionals grow and expand their businesses through effective marketing, public relations and networking activities.

If you are interested and want to attend, register as soon as you can because space is limited. If you are a member of the Don Ryan Center, these events are free, so you might want to consider a membership. If not, it is a small fee to come and get a cup of coffee, network and take away some great advice for your business.
