Jim Fingal is a fresh-out-of-Harvard fact checker for a prominent but sinking New York magazine.

John D’Agata is a talented writer with a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy – an essay that could save the magazine from collapse.

When Jim is assigned to fact check John’s essay, the two come head-to-head in a hilarious yet gripping battle over facts vs. opinion, truth vs. the creative process.

Directed by Blake White, founding artistic and executive director of Lean Ensemble, “The Lifespan of a Fact” features Lean Ensemble member Thomas Azar (“Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf,” “Barefoot in the Park”) as well as Kerrie Seymour (“The Taming,” “Who Am I This Time?”) and Skye Passmore, who is making his Lean debut.
