Palmetto Animal League would like the thank the many animal lovers in our community who joined with rescue organizations across the globe to shine a light on pet adoption last month.
Dozens of our neighbors participated in our “Remember Me” initiative, donating in honor of a beloved pet, with many posting dedications or memories of a furry friend on PAL’s online tribute wall.
The outpouring of love and support culminated on Sept. 26 when candles were lit across the world, in celebration for those animals who have been rescued and to shine a light for all those still waiting or those who have been lost.
Though the event is over, anyone can still participate in the campaign via our website.
A special thank you to our loyal friends at the Bluffton Sun who helped us spread the word.
In animal rescue, it seems the need for compassion and support never ends. It seems there is always another life to save. We are so fortunate – and so grateful – to be part of a community where compassion is a way of life. It’s gratifying to know that so many people believe, like us, that these are lives worth saving.
