The 2018 South Carolina Nonprofit Summit is coming to Hilton Head March 4-7 at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa.
This conference is the state’s largest and most comprehensive conference for nonprofit professionals and volunteers.
It is hosted by Together SC, the only statewide organization focused solely on supporting and strengthening the state’s nonprofit community through education, advocacy, communications, collaboration and leadership.
The organization was formerly known as SCANPO; the name was changed to emphasize the power of nonprofit organizations working together to create positive change.
The Summit will offer something for everyone involved in nonprofit organizations, from directors, managers and board members to volunteers and business partners. Participants can choose from more than 40 sessions, enjoy a special Gullah experience on Sunday, join in-depth workshops and visit local nonprofits.
The theme of this year’s summit is “Community Unity.” The time is now. The place is here. The conversation is critical. Local writer David Lauderdale will deliver the closing keynote speech March 7.
A special half-day Board Leadership Summit will also be part of the conference for board leaders and executive directors.
Nonprofit board members know their job is to govern, but high-performing boards provide leadership as well as governance.
Certified leadership and strategy coach, Patrick Jinks will offer a provocative look at governance through the lens of leadership. Using a framework of leadership centered on vision, inspiration and empowerment, board leaders will be inspired and challenged to see their governance role from a new perspective.
Not only will board members (and those who might be interested in board service) have an opportunity to get hyper-focused about board leadership and governance, but they can also join the bigger-picture conversation about the importance of unity in our communities.
Together SC is composed of more than 700 members representing nonprofit organizations, business partners, statewide associations, foundations, government agencies and academic institutions. The organization pledges to be a powerful and unified voice for the nonprofit community to influence government policies in order to realize its vision of a better future for all South Carolinians.
