With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what you and your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events – and just plain fun questions.

You might find us anywhere around Bluffton with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. If we find you, we hope you will want to participate.

At the Bluffton Book Festival on Calhoun Street, we asked: “What’s your favorite Christmas song?”

Tim Holsinger, Bluffton: “Mine is ‘White Christmas,’ because it reminds me of snow in Pennsylvania.”

Eddy Hoyle, Bluffton: ” ‘O Holy Night,’ because it’s the reason for the season.”

Helen Wilbur, Hilton Head Island: “Handel’s ‘Messiah.’ It’s transporting.”

N.T. Orr, Ridgeland: “Wow, that’s difficult! I’ll say Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5’s version of ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.’ I dance around the house whenever I hear that one.”

Andrew Clark, Asheville, N.C.: “That would be one written by my grandfather: ‘Happy Magic Christmas.’ His name is Leonard Clark; he won a Rockabilly Hall of Fame award for it. You can hear it on YouTube.”
