With this feature, we seek to capture a glimpse of what you and your neighbors have to say about a variety of topics, issues, events – and just plain fun questions.
You might find us anywhere around Bluffton with a camera and note pad, asking simple questions and looking for thoughtful answers. If we find you, we hope you will want to participate.
At the Heuser Ace Hardware Store in the Buckwalter Place Commerce Park, we asked: “In the midst of the Dog Days of Summer, what’s the best way you’ve found to avoid the heat?”
Kristie Ruf, Hardeeville: “I normally work every day, so I’m here. And I also write – I sit on my porch and listen to the sounds around me.”
Pierce Brehany, Bluffton: “I don’t think about the heat. I do roofing.”
Deborah Edmondson, Bluffton: “We stay in the air conditioning. We do yard work early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.”
Richard Rohde, Bluffton: “I just stay out of the heat.”
Anayeli Garcia, (Going to check on home tomorrow): “Where I work is very fresh, so I stay here. And drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.”
