This new edition is the follow-up book to “Beautiful Beaufort Pearl of the South,” which is now sold out. The stunning work showcases both the historical and natural beauty of the city. With more than 300 photographs that explore one of America’s oldest and most historic towns surrounded by the captivating natural beauty of the Lowcountry.

Release is set for mid-May 2017.

The fascinating history and natural allure of Beaufort is captivating to those who visit and to those who call it home. As they stroll through the pages of “The Beauty of Beaufort,” readers will learn about Beaufort’s colorful history, historical homes, and her many interesting sites.

A native of Beaufort, author Ryan Copeland is a regular columnist with the Beaufort Gazette and Island Packet. Formerly the managing editor of CARE Magazine, he has also contributed pieces to Lowcountry Weekly and Lady’s Island News.

His family’s roots in Beaufort are traced back to before World War II when his grandfather, an enlisted Marine, was stationed at Parris Island.

His grandmother and the Reames family swore that if the family ever left Beaufort they would never return. The Reames and Copeland families have been there ever since.

Copeland holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Clemson University and a Master’s Degree in Information Science from the University of South Carolina. “The Beauty of Beaufort” is his first book.
