The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office will host its annual Girls in Aviation Day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Sheriff’s Office helicopter hangar, 237 Sea Island Parkway on Lady’s Island.
The event will give young women an opportunity to explore aviation as a career or hobby. Participants can see aircraft up close, meet female aviation professionals and speak with pilots about their experiences in the field. Hands-on activities also will be offered during the event.
The program is intended to introduce participants to aviation and provide opportunities to learn about careers and other ways to become involved in the field.
