The Osprey Village Fall Golf Tournament will be held on November 10 from 8:30am to 5:30pm at the Golden Bear Golf Club at Indigo Run, 72 Golden Bear Way on Hilton Head Island, raising operational funds for the nonprofit whose goal is to provide housing and other resources to foster the independence and freedom of adults with developmental disabilities.
Registration will begin at 8:30am followed by tee off of the scramble format competition at 9:30 rain or shine. Golf registration includes 18 holes with a golf cart provided, breakfast by Signature Catering, a buffet by Longhorn Steakhouse, swag bags, and an assortment of prizes donated by supporters. Prizes will be awarded to golfers for the shot closest to the pin and for the most accurate drive. The event will also feature a 50-50 raffle and a silent auction. There will be a variety of beverage options on the grounds including a beer table and a Bloody Mary bar.
A solo golf registration is $175, and a foursome registration is also available for $700. Registration forms may be filled out on the Osprey Village, Inc. website.
Lead sponsors for the sixth annual golf tournament are Osprey Village supporters Matthew Huber and Sarah Meyer. Many area businesses have also signed on as sponsors.
Osprey Village continues to work toward the establishment of a neighborhood in Hardeeville designed to accommodate adults with developmental disabilities. Construction is scheduled to begin next year. The neighborhood is being developed in response to rapidly increasing demand and a shortage of services and housing options which has resulted in lengthy government waiting lists and wait times that have been known to exceed a decade. In addition to providing much needed housing, plans for Osprey Village include recreational activities and skill training resources.
