Welcome 2026. Gather yourself anew

Posted

It’s January. It’s a new year. Thank you, 2025. We are grateful, in advance, for 2026.

As Unity Truth students, we like to set our New Year intentions with affirmations, not with acknowledgments of feeling scattered or incomplete. And I must be honest, life sometimes unravels us, scattering our energy every which way. Most of us have experienced these moments … when things seem to come apart, when hope gives way to disappointment and we start to feel emotionally frayed.

“Gather yourself anew” is something we hear this time of year as we embrace the New Year dawning and purposefully set intentions (rather than make resolutions) for 2026. And what does this truly mean, and how do we return home to gather ourselves anew?

The truth is, this is work no one can do for us — it’s a return inward that starts with a pause, a conscious breath and a gentle acceptance and acknowledgment of the many parts of us. You are invited to notice your feelings with compassion, to gather yourself tenderly, allowing for reconnection with the perpetual center of divinity within you — the center from which your highest good springs forth.

This is not about pretending nothing hurts; it’s about witnessing from within, holding ourselves with kindness and choosing, right here and now, right where we are … to begin again anew. Gathering ourselves anew is choosing to keep going — returning, again and again, to the effort of living from and with intention.

Each of us is a beautiful tapestry of emotions and thoughts. Some of us long for harmony and fulfillment. We get to know that something greater than ourselves is guiding our way. I affirm for us that God is; therefore, we are.

The real key is our commitment to cultivating an inner steadiness, a consciousness grounded and untouched by what might be swirling around us. Gathering ourselves anew is, above all, an “inside job” — a practice of turning on the light from within, affirming we are spiritual beings, we are of the Divine.

We can know harmony in mind, body and life so long as we’re connected to Source. If we lose touch with the power and presence of God, with Infinite Intelligence, with creative flow, we can feel unmoored. As we find our way back — when we attune ourselves to that quiet, steady presence within — it’s truly amazing what we become and what we can do.

Most of the time, the only way forward is to surrender our old stories, fears and worries and allow for a renewed awareness — the light of God — to fill us from within. This is a holy acceptance, a spiritual realignment, an invitation to let the rhythm of the universe steady us — embracing knowing who we truly are: a spiritual being rooted in something infinite, stable and noble.

As you hold on to your oneness with the Divine, may you find the reward: a peace, a power, a wholeness that lets you live into all you are meant to be. Take a moment. “Gather yourself anew.” Keep showing up, look within, let your light shine and surrender to the peace and wholeness that are always and, in all ways, already yours.

Abundant New Year Blessings.
